Wren & Judson's 4th Birthday

These two celebrated their 4th birthday this past weekend!

Per usual, we had a houseful of friends and family to help us party.  Though it was raining cats and dogs that day, we all still had a marvelous time (indoors, of course).

Under the Boardwalk

We had the opportunity for a short trip to the beach this past weekend with Peepaw, Briena, Ashley, Gabe and Eli.  It was short but oh so sweet (and just a bit whiney...).

The weather was perfect:  sunny with a high in the upper 70s.  It was perfect for playing on the beach, if only a bit chilly for swimming.  But the kids didn't seem to notice too much.

This is what it looks like when you get five kids ages six and under together and you tell them to look at the camera.  Not a single one looks...

Other than playing on the beach and at the pool, we spent the rest of our time eating, celebrating Wren and Judson's birthday, walking on the boardwalk (necessitating us singing the song "Under the Boardwalk" each time it was mentioned, to the kids' delight), and just enjoying each other's company.  We also tried our hand at some putt-putt.  We should have prepared them for the fact that their ball disappears on the last hole in order to avoid a few meltdowns...
