Halloween 2022

This year our Halloween costumes were as easy as they come:  matching Power Rangers costumes from Wal-mart!  They won't win any awards for creativity, but the ease with which they got ready for trick-or-treating made these costumes a no-brainer.

Go, go Power Rangers!

My sweet Caleb insisted on giving me my favorite (Reese's peanut butter cups) from his stash.

Student of the Month

It was Judson's turn to be selected for Student of the Month for October:

We're so proud of him!

Disney World!

We resisted the call to take the kids to Disney World until now, but we finally broke down and took them this week.  I'm glad we waited until now because their legs are big enough to move quickly and they have the physical stamina required for three days back-to-back in amusement parks.  While their behavior was not perfect, they were pretty amazing, with no meltdowns or tantrums.  We all made a pact before leaving that we would not whine and complain during our trip, and we all mostly stuck to that.  They even kept up impressively with my super speed walking across the parks to get to all of the rides (ok, we all know that they were half being pulled, but it was still impressive nonetheless).

Here we are at the Magic Kingdom.  The kids were in awe at Cinderella's castle, of course.  This one was much more crowded than we expected, but we were able to ride everything except for Peter Pan, which was really not a big deal to anyone.  (Judson was not injured at Disney World.  He had just had a nasty bike accident about 10 days prior to our trip, which of course makes for some lovely pictures.)

The second day we went to Animal Kingdom.  We all (minus Judson) loved the Exhibition Everest and rode it four times with little to no wait.  We all enjoyed the wild animals, especially the playful tiger.

The third day we went to Hollywood Studios.  The three thrill seekers (Caleb, Wren and Mom) agreed that the Rockin' Rocker Coaster was the best ride with the best start.  Judson loved the Toy Story Land rides.

Here we are at our hotel, Art of Animation:

On the way home, we stopped by the Ichetucknee Springs for a little tubing to break up the ride and for some peace and quiet in the wild after four crazy days at Disney World.  And, of course, we hit up Bucee's on the way there and back.

Overall, this was a truly magical trip, and we are so glad we took it!
