Dress Up

Not to be too controversial, but I'm pretty sure that whoever came up with the idea that the differences between girls and boys are taught and not innate did not have children.  I've been amazed at the differences between Wren and my two boys.  Caleb and even Judson love to wrestle and throw things.  They're all about big movements and being loud and boisterous.  Wren, on the other hand, is more sensitive and overall just more gentle and nurturing.  Without being taught, she hugs her stuffed animals and gives them kisses.  Caleb and Judson barely notice the stuffed animals, let alone snuggle with them.  We've also recently discovered that Wren loves to play dress up.  One day, we left the coat closet open, and this is how we found her:
She had pulled down scarves hanging in the closet and draped them around herself.  To the extent that she was able to while so decorated, she then proceeded to crawl around the house as though she were the Queen of Persia.
Now whenever she encounters any bit of clothing, she takes the opportunity to make herself a little more presentable:
She hasn't discovered fixing her hair yet, so Mommy is still in charge of that.  And Mommy's still trying to figure that out...
Speaking of dressing up, Caleb (sort of) dressed up for Halloween this year.  His school had a parade the week of Halloween to show off all the cute costumes.  I didn't quite realize the extent that some parents went to for this preschool parade, and I admittedly didn't put much effort into his costume.  A trip to Wal-Mart the day before to buy a snout and a tail, and I thought we were all set.
Although he was an awfully cute dinosaur, I'm pretty sure that Caleb was the least dressed up child at the school that day.
Oops.  I was just glad he left his tail and snout on.
Judson dressed up as a Georgia Bulldogs player for Peepaw's birthday party the weekend before Halloween:
The night of Halloween, we all enjoyed chili (in 80 degree weather) and handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
I was worried that the trick-or-treaters would have come and gone before we finished cleaning up this colossal mess...
