Limping to the Finish Line

May began innocently enough, with all three kids eager for the imminent beginning of summer.  Then one kid went down with a stomach bug, followed by another and then another.  Then the first one was sick again.  Round and round it went until before we knew it May was over.  I think we had at least one kid home from school most days of the week for the last few weeks of school.  We became good friends with the school nurse who called us on the regular when a kid was sick at school.  We had kids throwing up in our bed, on our couch, basically everywhere.  Oh, and we also had to deal with all of the crazy end of year events:  field day, kindergarten graduation, awards day.  One kid missed field day, two kids went home after awards day, one kid missed almost the entire second to last week of school, and one kid missed the last day of school.  But we did eventually limp across the finish line, and we now have a fourth grader and two first graders who are feeling much better now that summer has begun.

Caleb was awarded the Friendly Neighbor award for his class.
Wren received the Amazing Author award for all of her books that she writes.

Judson received the Super Scientist award, and the teacher said that he could practically teach the science lesson with her each day.
During the month of May, one of us also turned 40 and Caleb turned 9!  Caleb celebrated with a Bey Blade party and tournament.

Let the summer fun begin!
