Hello, Summer!

When I was growing up, summer didn't really start until Memorial Day, but when you have a preschooler, it apparently starts sooner.

This past week was the last week of school for Caleb, and hopefully the start of a fun summer!
We started the week by celebrating Mother's Day with all the wonderful mothers in our life.  After church, we made our way to Ellijay to visit with Mamaw Ollie, Papaw Charlie, and RaRa.  Nothing says summer like picnicing under the shady trees, running in the field, checking out the donkeys, and playing by the creek until your face is red and your hair is sweaty.
(As a side note, it is impossible to take a picture of my children with all of them looking at the camera and making a nice face, as you can see from the pictures above.  Judson is always looking somewhere besides the camera, Caleb wants to stick his tongue out most of the time, and Wren refuses to stand in close proximity to a group of people assembled for the purpose of taking a group photo.)
From there, it was off to see Mamaw Sheila and Papaw Clyde...but not before a little snooze in the van.  They were all out within minutes of starting the ride.
Then we ate and played with Mamaw Sheila and Papaw Clyde for a while.
Later that week, we had the end of the year carnival and graduation at Caleb's school.
It's hard to believe that my baby has finished preschool and will be starting kindergarten in the fall.  It feels like it was just a few months ago that he started preschool.  We're so proud of Caleb and all that he has accomplished so far in his short academic career.  We are also so grateful for the amazing teachers he's had and the school he's attended these past two years.
Since the end of the school year, we've been working on our summertime money-maker - the lemonade stand:
Our first weekend of making and selling homemade lemonade went well.  We sold out within minutes, and Caleb brought in a whopping $1.  If you're thirsty on a hot day, come see us for some instant refreshment for only $0.25!  Hours of operation yet to be determined.
When he's not operating our lemonade stand, Caleb (a.k.a Darth Vader) likes to ride around the cul-de-sac like this (Didn't you know that Dark Vader drove a red convertible?):
This is just the start of summer, and we look forward to marking off all the fun things to do on our Summer Bucket List!  Happy Summer!
