P.O.'ed

Have you ever wondered where they get the phrase "P!#$ed Off" (as in really mad)?  I've never really thought about it until Tony and I made a connection lately.  When is it that Wren and Judson are most likely to pee in their pants?  When they're hopping mad because someone ate their popcorn...
When one of their siblings commits grand theft auto and speeds away in their red convertible (wielding a homemade "scepter" all the while)...
When Daddy makes them walk the whole distance in their hike to the creek...
When someone breaks Wren's crown...
When someone throws away their ice cream at brother's summer birthday celebration at school...
Pretty much any time they're p!#$ed off about something, we have to be on the look out for what we've termed a "p!$%y fit," which is a tantrum requiring new undies and mop up duty.  Thankfully, those times are becoming fewer and far between...or at least that's what we're praying for.
Whether or not this is the true origin of the word, I do not know, but I would not be surprised in the least if this curse word has its origin in the crazy shenanigans of two year olds.  If it does, something tells me that it is not the first, nor will it be the last, curse word coming from parents of tempestuous toddlers.
